Betting on underdogs in football matches
Just a few days after the triumph over Arsenal in the FA Cup, Manchester United are back in action in the Premier League. The Red Devils will host Southampton in a match they have to win. Let’s preview it in our Betting on underdogs in football matches.
Manchester United made some heroics against Arsenal in the FA Cup. Ruben Amorim’s team played with 10 men on the pitch after Diogo Dalot’s red card, but managed to take the game to penalties and win there. Bruno Fernandes scored United’s only goal for the 1-1 draw while Altay Bayindir saved a penalty kick. The Turkish goalkeeper had a great game in London, but most likely Andre Onana will return for the next Premier League clash.
Amorim could rotate the line-up a little bit against Southampton. Amad Diallo, Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro all played good as substitutions against Arsenal. Now they could be ready to start the next game as well. Tyrell Malacia also came in from the bench and had a good performance at the Emirates.
Southampton are the weakest team in the Premier League this season. The Saints have won just 6 points since the beginning of the campaign. They have just one win as well – against Everton in November. The change of managers didn’t work at Southampton, too – the new manager Ivan Juric is still unable to revive the team since getting on the helm.
Southampton lost 8 of its last 10 matches in the league. In their last game they hosted Brentford at home, but got dominated for a 0-5 defeat. Is Ivan Juric even going to finish the season at the St. Mary’s? Maybe another change of the coaches is approaching at this club.
That’s the Betting on underdogs in football matches guide for the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Southampton. Everything leads to a clear win for United here, but let’s see.
